COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Another man has been arrested in relation to a Sunday morning car accident that resulted in the death of a Columbia woman.

The Richland County Highway Patrol arrested Lavon Levine, 32, in the death of Whitney Wesley, 24. Levine turned himself in to authorities Tuesday morning and is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

It comes after the arrest of Johann Willis, 33, who was charged with Accessory after the fact for murder.

According to the Highway Patrol, Levine was driving a 2011 Nissan on Teague Road near the intersection of Sunview Circle when it ran off the road and hit a tree. That impact struck Wesley, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Willis later took the injured Wesley to the Palmetto Health Richland Hospital and left her there. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Wesley died from her injuries before reaching the hospital.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
