COLUMBIA (WACH) - The City of Columbia Water Works advises the water customers of Arcadia Lakes Drive, from Trenholm Road to Formosa Drive, including Arcadia Woods Road, located in Richland County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking. 

Also, any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The City of Columbia has experienced an eight inch main break.  This could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water of Arcadia Lakes Drive, from Trenholm Road to Formosa Drive, including Arcadia Woods Road.

The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem.
