COLUMBIA (WACH)-- A no-kill animal shelter in the Midlands is one stop closer to moving into its new home.

Pawmetto Lifeline’s new facility on Bower Parkway is almost ready to open its doors.

Workers expect it to open by the end of January.

The new facility will include a pet shelter, adoption center, medical clinic, and senior center.

“There’s going to be a big difference,” said CEO Denise Wilkinson. “We hope everyone comes out to see us, volunteer, adopt from us, and use the medical clinic.”

Until the new facility opens, Pawmetto Lifeline will continue to operate out of its center on Saint Andrews Road.

All the animals at Pawmetto Lifeline are rescued from local shelters. The ones taken in are the animals that were about to be euthanized.
