LEXINGTON (WACH) —  A Midlands judge has set bond at $500,000 for a man charged with killing a Midlands girl and injuring several others in a weekend car crash.

Authorities say around 10:40 am Sunday, Billy Hutto, 26, slammed into another vehicle at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Old Cherokee Road as it pulled onto Sunset Boulevard, killing a 6-year-old passenger.

Hutto faces several charges in the case, including felony DUI.

The Lexington County Coroner identified the victim as Emma Longstreet of Lexington. According to officials, the little girl was restrained at the time of the accident.  A third vehicle was also involved in the crash.

Hutto was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center as of late Monday afternoon.

Lexington Police, and the Highway Patrol's Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team are looking in to the accident.
