COLUMBIA (WACH/AP)—The 31st annual Economic Outlook Conference is planned for today at the Darla Moore School of Business

The University of South Carolina researchers are preparing their 2012 predictions for the Palmetto state and the nation, the theme is being dubbed: "Prognosis for a Fragile Recovery."

The annual conference, which is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am, will welcome speakers Wells Fargo Chief Economist John Silvia, South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt, and Moore School Dean Hildy Teegen.

Scheduled topics include the impact of the election on the national economy and strategies for state economic growth.

The conference is in the Lumpkin Auditorium on the eighth floor of the Darla Moore School of Business.
