COLUMBIA (WACH) – The Columbia Coalition of Reason launched a campaign geared toward non-theistic groups in the Midlands.

Drivers may see billboards that read, “Don't believe in God? You are not alone." One is located near Blossom Street where Pulaski Street dead ends. The other billboard is on I-20 West, just east of Monticello Road.

The ads will remain up for four weeks. They were placed by the Columbia Coalition of Reason with $7,000 in funding from the United Coalition of Reason.

People responsible for the billboards say the campaign is to build awareness for people who are non-theistic in the Midlands.

“This helps them to have a sense of community that they might be lacking in their lives.  Being non-religious in the South in the Bible Belt can be a very isolating experience and this helps to kind of alleviate that, just to let them know there are people they can talk to who are like them,” said Dustin Tucker, coordinator of the Columbia Coalition of Reason.
