FOREST ACRES (WACH) – Forest Acres Police say a man shot a person Friday morning when he returned home to find someone burglarizing his house.

Police say the man came home to his Percival Road residence after being notified his alarm was sounding.  Investigators say the man confronted at least three people coming from his home.  After a confrontation, investigators say the resident shot one of the people.

The burglary suspect was taken to a local hospital.  The other people are still on the loose.

Authorities say the homeowner is the legal owner of the gun used in the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Forest Acres Police Department at (803) 782-9444 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CRIME-SC.
