Three firearms siezed by Lee County deputies after a months-long undercover drug sting.
LEE COUNTY, SC (WACH) - Lee County authorities say they have arrested 12 people in a drug operation they have been tracking since August.
Sheriff Daniel Simon says Operation “Pilgrim Pride” focused on several areas within the Bishopville city limits and the Sugar Hill Section of Ashland.
On Thursday, Simon says Lee County deputies, along with Bishopville police and the Chesterfield and Sumter County Sheriff's departments, executed three search warrants at the Pepper Tree Apartments near Bishopville Primary School.
Authorities say they advised school officials to keep all children and teachers inside the school until their operation was complete.
Investigators say they were led to the location after the suspects sold crack cocaine to undercover agents a number of times since late August.
All the suspects were arrested without incident. Investigators say they seized drugs, money and several firearms during the arrests. Sheriff Simon says one of the guns was stolen from a residence in Browntown.
