COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP, WACH) -- Columbia's law enforcement community is partnering with a local restaurant to raise money for the Columbia Police Foundation.

The Columbia Police Foundation is holding a fundraiser Wednesday at the Hardee's on Piney Grove Road, near I-26.

Officers say 20 percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Columbia Police Foundation.

The nonprofit, charitable organization financially supports Columbia's police force in its efforts to improve the quality of life for Columbia citizens and maintain community policing and crime prevention initiatives.

The foundation also helps supports the entire police department, including officers and their families.
