IRMO, S.C. (WACH) - A Pomaria man is charged with stealing $50,000 worth of metal from the Select Comfort warehouse in Irmo.

Irmo police say David Cherry took $47,000 worth of steel from the facility off Western Lane last April.  They say he went back November 9th, and stole more metal.

Employees at the company took down Cherry's tag number, and Cherry was arrested after an Irmo police officer stopped him for a traffic violation.

The 49-year-old Cherry is currently being held in the Alvin S. Glenn detention center on larceny charges.
