COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Columbia's Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens is offering free admission to all military men and women on Veterans Day.

Zoo executive director Satch Krantz says military personnel are being asked to show their military ID card Friday either at the Zoo or Garden entrance.

Krantz says adult family members who accompany military personnel will be eligible for the normal military discount, which means the regular $11.75 admission is cut to $10.75 for anyone over 12 years old.

Admission for children ages 3 to 12 is $9.25 and free for children 2 and under.

Throughout the year, admission is free for soldiers who wear their uniforms on the day they graduate from nearby Fort Jackson's Basic Combat Training.
