McDonalds will launch new healthier happy meal in Columbia on November 18.
COLUMBIA (WACH) -- McDonald’s is making a change it hopes will help win the battle of the bulge in the nation's young people.
The restaurant will soon offer a new, healthier happy meal. Several kids in Columbia got a sneak peek of what's to come at EdVenture Children's Museum Tuesday afternoon. The new happy meal will automatically include apple slices with no caramel dip, and a new smaller size french fries along with a choice of beverage, including new fat-free chocolate milk and one percent low fat white milk.
The company's main man Ronald McDonald was on hand to help make the sale.
“We know in this economy families are looking for healthier offers and these new happy meals will help make a big difference,” said Lainey Johnson, marketing representative for the McDonalds locations in Columbia.
The new healthier happy meals go on sale the Friday, November 18. Columbia will be one of the first markets to offer the new happy meal.
