COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- Sheriff's deputies in Richland County are getting out their ice cream scoops to raise money for anti-drug training.

Sheriff Leon Lott says his deputies are teaming up with a Baskin Robbins in Columbia for the fourth annual "DARESCREAM Night" next Thursday.

Deputies are rolling up their sleeves and helping scoop ice cream, and some of the purchase price goes toward helping train officers who participate in Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or DARE.  Other law offices from the Columbia Fire Department and police departments in Columbia and Forest Acres are also helping out.

Lott says the event also includes face painting, an obstacle course and a drawing for a lunch with the sheriff.
