COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Get Fit and Get Happy was the focus of this years senior wellness expo taking place at The Katie and Irwin Kahn Jewish Community Center.

About a hundred seniors showing up throughout the day getting free blood pressure checks, health screenings and learning from a number of senior care exhibits.

Organizers say with health care being a national issue, many seniors are taking advantage of events like these to learn about a healthy lifestyle.

"To learn more about health tips also to get discounted flu shots. To learn some tips about food and healthy snacks. We love our seniors and seniors are getting more active and more proactive as their getting older," says Kaytina Taylor Haack, Event Coordinator.
