COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Police in Columbia are asking for your help finding out more about a cab driver shooting that happened over the weekend.
Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott says the shooting took place early Sunday morning at the Ames Manor Apartments on Ames Road.
The 22-year-old victim who drives for the Blue Ribbon Cab Company, says he picked up two males on Harden Street in his cab and dropped them off at the apartments.
When they arrived, the driver says one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot him in the back.
The driver drove himself to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
“This type of violence will not be tolerated in the City of Columbia," Chief Scott says. "It is my hope that someone who knows about the incident will call Columbia Police or CrimeStoppers immediately.”
