COLUMBIA (WACH) -- From grease to sweets, the South Carolina State Fair has it all when it comes to those bad-for-you foods.
And it's not just your traditional treats like funnel cakes, corn dogs and caramel apples. Food vendors are taking it to a whole new level when it comes to their creations.
Some of the wildest eats available include the donut burger, which contains an estimated 1,500 artery stopping calories. It places a hamburger patty with bacon and cheese between Krispy Kreme donuts served in a paper hat.
If you want something even more deep fried, you can find just about anything rolled in batter and dunked in the fryer from candy bars and ice cream to pickles and butter.
But people seem to loosen their diets along with their belts when fair season rolls around, because fairgoers line up to get their hands on the snacks.
But it may surprise you how many calories some of this fair food can pack. According to the website CalorieKing.com one fried 5 oz. Snickers contains a whopping 444 calories and 29 grams of fat. A funnel cake measures 760 calories and one of those giant turkey legs somehow holds 1,136 calories and 54 grams of fat.
