COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- Dillon County is scheduled to get an additional 107 jobs over the next two years.

South Carolina officials said Thursday that Dillon Furniture Manufacturing Co. plans to spend nearly $3 million to expand its Dillon County plant.

General Manager Howard Carr says the company has continued to experience growth, prompting the decision to expand the operation. The expansion will increase production of hospitality furniture at the plant.

“Our company has continued to grow throughout the years, and we are pleased to expand again here in Dillon County. `This expansion will help us better meet customer demand.  South Carolina has consistently provided us with a business-friendly environment and skilled talent,” Carr said.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2013.

The state is providing training funds and job development credits if the company meets hiring targets. Dillon County also is providing tax incentives for the expansion.

“Manufacturing continues to be a source of wealth creation throughout our state. Dillon Furniture Manufacturing Company’s expansion not only adds to our manufacturing strength but also shows that our business-friendly environment continues to help our existing businesses prosper,” said Bobby Hitt, Secretary of Commerce.

The company expects to begin hiring next month.
