COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A former Supreme Court justice from South Africa is speaking on the United States' role in international criminal justice.
Justice Richard Goldstone speaks Thursday evening at the University of South Carolina. The event is free and open to the public.
Goldstone chaired a commission in the 1990s that investigated violence during the system of apartheid as the South African government was moving toward democracy.
He has also chaired commissions that investigated war crimes in Yugoslavia and Rwanda and led a United Nations fact-finding mission on the conflict in Gaza.
