COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Conservation Voters of South Carolina holding their annual Green Tie Award Luncheon Wednesday.

The luncheon honors public servants and environmental leaders who have made contributions into protecting air and water.

Organizers say a luncheon like this also brings awareness to the need of protecting the environment.

“Clean land air and water affect all of us in South Carolina and its an issue that’s neither conservative nor liberal it's important to everyone to have a clean environment to live in," says Debbie Parker, CVSC Legislative Director.

Five people including South Carolina Senator Vincent Sheehen were recognized for their conservation efforts.
