COLUMBIA (WACH)-- Three of the five juveniles accused in the June Five Points beating of 18-year-old Carter Strange will remain in jail until their trials.

Family Court Judge Dorothy Jones made the ruling Tuesday morning when the suspects appeared in court. Two other juveniles will have their detention hearings Wednesday morning at the Richland County courthouse.

Columbia police say Strange was attacked by eight suspects in a parking lot on the 1900 block of Blossom Street.

Surveillance video captured the young suspects involved in the beating that prompted emergency brain surgery for Strange.
