ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -- An terrorism alert prompted the search of a truck along Interstate 85 on Monday afternoon.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, the Joint Terrorism Task Force put out a request for authorities to be on the look out for a Penske rental truck going north on Interstate 85.

Skipper said that about 2 p.m. deputies spotted a truck with licensce plates that matched the information given by the JTTF and pulled it over.

Interstate 85 between mile markers 27 and 32 were shut down for about 10 minutes while deputies searched the contents of the truck, Skipper said.

Skipper said bomb dogs found nothing suspicious on the truck.

The sheriff said he is not sure why the federal government was looking for the truck or what will happen to the driver of the truck.

The FBI confirmed it was investigating a suspicious vehicle along I-85 and that traffic was diverted out of an abundance of caution.
