LEE COUNTY (WACH) -- A Lee County school psychologist has been suspended for arrests that include prostitution and DUI, according to school district officials.
According to multiple media outlets, 33-year-old Misty Watford was arrested in mid-July for soliciting prostitution during a sting. Later in the month, she was picked up for driving under the influence after serving time for her first arrest.
A spokesperson for the school district tells WACH Fox News Watford, who has worked for the district for three years, has been placed on administrative leave as a result of her legal situation.
Watford was also in the news in February, 2009 speaking out against Medicaid cuts. She was featured in a report urging lawmakers to continue the benefits that, she said, are responsible for keeping her young son, who was born needing special care, alive and healthy. The article states she was married at the time it was published.
