CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A Georgia man who escaped from a sheriff's deputy and was free for three days in South Carolina now faces 29 charges.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that 37-year-old Perry Alton Sullivan of Bowersville, Ga., is charged with overpowering a deputy and stealing a sheriff's cruiser and his gun Aug. 18. Sullivan was being taken to Georgia to face a burglary charge at the time.

Warrants state that Sullivan is now charged with breaking into a house in Fairfax, stealing a truck and a sports utility vehicle. He's also accused of holding three people at gunpoint while he robbed a convenience store in Sycamore outside Allendale.
