COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A Midlands man used to giving is now in the running to receive some national attention.

Wilson Yon, a Senior Resources Meals on Wheels volunteer since 1998, has been nominated for the annual American Volunteer of the Year award.

Twenty finalists from across the country were selected, and now it's up to the community to decide the winner.  Click the link at the bottom of the story to visit the competition's Facebook page to vote.  A video highlighting Yon's work can also be seen there. 

The Meals on Wheels program of the winning nominee will also receive $1,000.
