BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) -- Actor Gary Sinise will serve as grand marshal for a parade next month celebrating Beaufort's 300th birthday.
The Beaufort Gazette reports the parade on Sept. 17 is one of many events marking Beaufort's tri-centennial.
Sinise played Lt. Dan in the film "Forrest Gump" and now is regularly seen in the television show "CSI-New York."
The parade coincides with the second annual Lt. Dan Weekend, a retreat for severely wounded vets.
Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band will perform a concert the night before the parade for the wounded vets.
