CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Carowinds amusement park has bought more than 60 acres of vacant land that will be used to expand the park.

Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. says it bought land that straddles the border of North Carolina and South Carolina to expand the 337-acre park.

Spokeswoman Stacy Frole said Monday that Cedar Fair has no specific expansion plans for the land, although the company has several possibilities, including moving current parking spaces to expand the park. Carowinds has more than 50 rides, shows and other offerings.

The previous landowner and purchase price weren't disclosed.
