GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WPDE, AP) -- Authorities investigating the disappearance two years ago of a New York State teenager are focusing on a Georgetown County motel.
Police tape was put up Monday across one of the rooms at the Sunset Lodge Hotel in Georgetown County.
State Law Enforcement Division agents were walking in and out of room 22 Monday. A crime scene truck is also backed up to that room. They have not said what they're looking for.
Myrtle Beach police say they're looking into several people of interest.
Authorities are investigating the disappearance of 19-year-old Brittanee Drexel. Then 17, Drexel was last seen leaving the BlueWater Resort on Ocean Boulevard on April 25, 2009 while on spring break.
Authorities were expected Monday to make an announcement about developments in the case.
Drexel's cell phone transmitted its last known signal the day after she disappeared near the South Santee River in Georgetown County.
Family members and search crews have been looking for her ever since she went missing, accounting for more than 50 searches, many of them conducted by the CUE Center for missing persons.
