COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Richland County officials gave kids in the community a chance to learn and beat the summertime blues Thursday.

The fun and educational youth program is designed to teach students ages 6-12 about Richland County Government and the greater Midlands community.

This year’s theme is "Navigating Your Way Through Richland County".

Students learned about animal care, climbed inside a real fire truck and ambulance, and had a chance to meet the 9-foot deputy.
