COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A Florence woman who worked at the Department of Motor Vehicles has been accused of fraudulently issuing driver's licenses.
U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles said Wednesday that 40-year-old Brenda Poston is charged with issuing fraudulent commercial driver's licenses and obtaining a fraudulent Social Security number for a driver's license.
The maximum penalty on each of the five counts is five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Prosecutors say Poston is charged with four cases of indicating that certain people had passed the commercial driver's license tests when they had not taken the tests. The final count deals with the Social Security number.
It wasn't clear if Poston has an attorney.
