CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The South Carolina State Ports Authority is showing off the latest design concepts for the agency's planned $25 million cruise terminal in Charleston.

The terminal is planned for an old warehouse on the Cooper River. The latest designs are being presented during a meeting Monday.

The authority is planning the terminal because the cruise industry has grown in Charleston in recent years.

The terminal is the subject of a lawsuit filed last month. Residents, as well as a preservation group and an environmental group, allege that Carnival Cruise Lines ships docking in the city are a public nuisance and violate city ordinances.
