Highway Patrol looking for suspect in hit and run with bicycle

RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- Officials are investigating a hit and run involving a bicycle on Bluff Road.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened Tuesday morning around 5:45 a.m. at 1929 Bluff Road south of Columbia.

Investigators say 22-year-old firefighter Travis Kinley was transported to the hospital in serious condition.  He was wearing a helmet at the time, according to officials.

The suspect remains on the run.  Officials don't have a description of the vehicle, but say it could have damage to the front end.
