CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Four fighter jets will zip along the length of the South Carolina coast to honor America on Independence Day.

The F-16 Vipers from the 77th Fighter Squadron of the 20th Fighter Wing will start at the North Carolina state line near Myrtle Beach at 1 p.m. Monday and fly south along the entire South Carolina coast. Organizers say the flight should take about 20 minutes.

The jets for what is called the "Salute from the Shore" are from Shaw Air Force Base.

Organizers are encouraging people to salute the jets for a video being made from the planes that will be posted online.
