COLUMBIA (WACH) -- It`s the first full day of summer, but it has felt like summer for several weeks here in the Midlands.  Highs Wednesday will once again be around 100 degrees.

Like every day this week, there is a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms to develop in the afternoon and evening hours courtesy of the heating of the day.  Also worth noting, any of the storms that form could be strong to severe.

A cold front will approach the Midlands by Thursday afternoon, but stall out in the Upstate.  This front will sit over the area through the weekend bringing “cooler” temps to the Midlands and slightly better chances for isolated to scattered thunderstorms.
