LEXINGTON (WACH) -- Officials unveiled the improvements to Corley St. Park Tuesday, on the first day of summer.

Lowes Home Improvement gave the Town of Lexington a grant of $18,841 to upgrade the park. It now includes a spray pool, picnic shelter murals, and new playground equipment.

"We just want to provide a place for people to gather, communicate, collaborate and build relationships and parks are at the very essence of that goal," said Mayor Randy Halfacre.

The Lexington Police Department added a call box for safety measures and the Lexington Countywide Stormwater Consortium installed a rain garden.
