FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say they want the death penalty against a Florence County man charged with murder after authorities identified a body as belonging to his missing 22-year-old wife.

Florence County Sheriff's Capt. Brett Camp said Thursday that authorities are working to build a case for the death penalty against 23-year-old Rodney Ivey.

Authorities said Wednesday a body found in the Coward-Scranton community is that of Devin Ivey, who was last seen a week ago at an Olanta motel. Investigators say her husband killed her after a fight.

Rodney Ivey has been charged with murder, giving false information to police and a probation violation. Authorities say he told them different stories about what happened to his wife.

Bond was denied Thursday for Ivey. He is scheduled to appear in court next month.
