COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says she'll veto Senate plans to add extra cash to the state's schools.

Haley said the Senate plan spends money that that should be used on other priorities.

Growing state tax collections gave legislators $210 million that they hadn't expected. The Senate version of the $6 billion general budget spending bill puts $105 million of that into schools and $100 million into an unemployment tax break for businesses with records of firing workers.

Haley says the extra money should be used for tax breaks or otherwise sent back to taxpayers. She also says she's keeping an eye on plans to continue spending taxpayer money on South Carolina ETV, the state Arts Commission and anything that isn't a central function of government.
