SEATTLE (AP) -- Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Jim Albaugh says employees in Washington needn't worry about losing jobs to South Carolina because there will be plenty of work for both.
Albaugh told The Seattle Times in an interview last week that the big issue for Boeing will be finding workers to support production in the Puget Sound, where all its jetliners are currently assembled, and in North Charleston, where a new 787 plant has opened.
The South Carolina plant is an issue for the National Labor Relations Board which opens a hearing in Seattle on Tuesday on relocating work.
The NLRB sued in April, claiming that Boeing located the assembly line in South Carolina, a right to work state, to retaliate against Washington state union workers who went on strike in 2008.
