COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The latest poll from Public Policy Polling shows likely voters are split when it comes to Gov. Nikki Haley's job in the State House.
The results, released Thursday, show 42 percent of those asked approve of Haley's performance six months into her term. Forty-one-percent disapprove, while 17 percent are unsure.
In January, PPP released a poll showing higher popularity for Haley. Thirty-six percent approved of her performance, while 24 percent thought she wasn't doing a good job.
The trend that displays a declining popularity for the governor is made up for by the fact that voters would still elect her over former Democratic opponent Vincent Sheheen.
Sen. Lindsey Graham saw similar results when it comes to current popularity. He is split when it comes to approval with 40 percent for him and 38 percent against.
The same poll found that fewer than 30 percent of voters in South Carolina see former Gov. Mark Sanford in a positive light.
Other areas polled include interracial marriage and the Civil War outcome. Click here to read the full poll findings.
PPP asked 741 voters between June 2 and 5 over the phone. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.6 percent.
PPP released a recent poll showing which 2012 GOP presidential candidates lead in South Carolina. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came out in the lead. Read that story by clicking here.
What do you think about the results? If there were a rematch between Haley and Sheheen this month, who would you vote for? Is that different from the ballot you cast in November? Vote in our poll below and leave a comment.
