COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina senators will hear testimony on how the state's district lines should be redrawn.
A Senate Judiciary subcommittee will hear from the public on drawing lines for 46 state Senate seats as well as the U.S. House on Tuesday.
The meeting comes a day after the House Judiciary Committee approved new district line maps for 124 House seats and seven U.S. House seats.
Redistricting is required every 10 years to account for population growth and shifts. South Carolina grew enough since the last census to add a seventh U.S. House seat.
