GREER, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a 48-year-old Greer man has been arrested for the second time in a week after making unnecessary calls to 911 and refusing help from paramedics.

Spartanburg County sheriff's deputies say Jeffery Brockman was charged Sunday with illegal use of 911 after he called the emergency line six times over the weekend to complain of chronic pain.

Deputies said Brockman told authorities he could no longer get pain medication because his doctor thought he had been abusing it.

Brockman was arrested May 24 after calling 911 more than 20 times and refusing help from paramedics on many occasions.

It wasn't immediately clear if Brockman has an attorney.
