FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCIV, AP) -- The Coast Guard has rescued two boaters who were stranded off Folly Beach when their sailboat overturned.
The two were rescued by a Coast Guard boat shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday after a helicopter pinpointed their location.
The Coast Guard says that 23-year-old Zachary Nelson of Hollywood, (S.C.), and 22-year-old Kayla Henry of Clarksville, Tenn., were found clinging to the Hobie Cat sailboat.
"The stiff winds made rough sea conditions that affect being able to mobilize the units as quickly as we'd like but the units we were able to overcome that," said Deputy Chief Brad Wade with Folly Beach Fire.
A third person on the boat swam to shore and contacted authorities.
The accident happened about a mile east of the Morris Island Lighthouse.
