COLUMBIA (WACH) --  It’s the doomsday prediction that didn’t fair up.

Harold Camping and the Family Radio Group said that the end of the world would be Saturday May 21st at 6pm. Sunday several pastors across the Midlands spent the morning talking to parishioners about the so-called judgment day and it’s affect on Christianity. Pastors say the Bible teaches about the coming of Jesus Christ and ultimately judgment day but not in the context that Camping put it.

"One of the things that Jesus did when he ascended back to heaven was his disciples asked him master are you restoring the kingdom or when are you coming back and Jesus said no man knows the day nor the hour,” says Mack Jackson, Associate Pastor BibleWay Church of Atlas Road.

This isn’t the first time that Camping has made headlines for his end of day’s predictions. Back in May 21, 1994, Camping warned of a similar apocalypse, but attributed the world's survival to a miscalculation. So instead of May 21, 1994, we got May 21, 2011.

“We shouldn’t look at predictions we should continue to witness that God is coming back. We don’t know when but he is coming back," says Jackson.

Family Radio says about three percent of the population or 200 million people will be raptured and taken to heaven this Saturday while the rest are left behind.
