CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- TV's Stephen Colbert is in his native Charleston preparing to skipper a boat in the OnDeck Charleston to Bermuda Race.

Eleven boats leave Saturday. It's expected to take about three days for the competitors to cover the 777 miles to Bermuda.

Colbert sailed in the race six years ago before the Colbert Report went on the air on Comedy Central.

Colbert plans to make the trip a focal point on his show.
