CHESTERFIELD, S.C. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney is postponing his chance to meet with voters so they can watch two local high schools battle for a state title.
The first-term Republican said he is postponing a town hall planned for Thursday in Chesterfield because Chesterfield High School's baseball team will be playing for a state Class A championship against Lake City, another school in his district.
Mulvaney says he is a big baseball fan and he knows his constituents would rather watch the game than talk to him about economics and government finance.
The town hall has been rescheduled for July.
