COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Fourteen teenage boys now have a new home at the Epworth's Children's Home thanks to the Leadership Columbia Class of 2011.

Friday morning, city and community leaders in Columbia held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the newly renovated Doug Gray Cottage at the Epworth's Children's Home.

The Leadership Columbia Class of 2011 selected the Epworth Children's Home as this year's community service project to receive roofing upgrades, window repairs, plumbing, electrical, painting work, and brand new furniture.

Class members and officials at Epworth say the project is much more than a facelift.

"If we leave good memories like this cottage at the Epworth Children's Home, lives will be changed forever and years to come," said Cory Lorick LC class of 2011 member.

The cottage will be a new home to 14 teenage boys.

The Epworth Children's Home provides housing and emotional support for orphaned children.

Epworth officials say in-kind donations were critical to the success of the project and there are still items on their gift registry. If you would like to make a donation, you can visit their online site for more details.
