ORANGEBURG (WACH)  – Orangeburg County officials say a Florida murder fugitive was arrested Wednesday in Orangeburg.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says a collaborative law enforcement operation between the Sheriff's Office, Orangeburg Dept. of Public Safety, and the Jupiter, FL Police Dept. led to the arrest of 30-year-old Fares Mustafa Wednesday morning.

Mustafa is wanted in the town of Jupiter, FL for his alleged connection in the June 2010 shooting death of a man and the attempted murder of a woman.

Mustafa is charged with first degree murder with a firearm, attempted first degree murder with a firearm, and a burglary of an occupied dwelling with a firearm.

“We are glad to be able to arrest a dangerous criminal hiding out in our county and bring him to justice," said Sheriff Ravenell.
