RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) -- Officials are looking for two suspects who they say were involved in a jewelry heist at the Village at Sandhill.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department says a male and female suspect stole nearly $9,000 from Kay's Jewelers last Wednesday.

The store's owner says the pair posed as customers when the female was trying on rings.  The male left the building to get identification to open a store account and the woman bolted out with two diamond rings and one diamond band.

The pair were seen leaving in a red, older model Ford vehicle with South Carolina plates.  Investigators aren't sure of the model of the vehicle at this time.

The male suspect is described as a 5'9" black male weighing around 165 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a Wendy's shirt and shoulder-length dreadlocks.  The female is described as a white woman standing around 5'7" tall, weighing around 215 pounds with brown hair.

Deputies ask that anyone with information on the suspects contact CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
