CHARLESTON, S.C. (WACH, AP) -- South Carolina State Treasurer Curtis Loftis is visiting schools around the state to talk about financial literacy with students.

Loftis begins the tour by visiting schools in Charleston and Myrtle Beach on Wednesday. He visits four schools in other parts of the state later this week, including the Grace Christian School in West Columbia Wednesday.

The treasurer will present the schools tablet computers provided by Visa and loaded with the financial literacy software.

Loftis says it's important that students know the importance of saving and managing money.
