SUMTER, S.C. (AP) -- Bond has been denied for a Clarendon County man accused of killing his 9-month old son and his girlfriend's grandmother.

The Item of Sumter reports a judge denied bond Wednesday for 21-year-old Justin Jeremiah Johnson on two counts of murder and one count each of attempted murder, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Johnson was arrested April 6. Authorities say he confessed to killing Jayden Carraway and 59-year-old Maxine Briggs Carraway.

Authorities say as Johnson fought with his girlfriend that day, he killed his son with a 12-gauge shotgun then shot the woman as she had tried to flee.

Prosecutors have not decided whether to seek the death penalty.
