COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A Columbia man has been charged as an accessory in the shooting death of a high school student.

Thirty-nine-year-old Terry Eugene Myers was arrested about a mile from the scene where 17-year-old Santerrica Johnson was shot late Tuesday morning. She died a short time later at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.

Deputy Police Chief Rueben Santiago says investigators think Johnson was an innocent bystander. Police say a dispute involving two men with Johnson turned violent and she was shot.

Santiago says more charges are expected.

Police have not found the gun.

Richland District 1 spokeswoman Karen York said a crisis response team would be at Dreher High School on Wednesday.
